Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4
Pachymorpha arguta Chen & He, 2008: 206 View in CoL , fig. 171 a–c, 417. ♀ HT, China, Yunnan Province, Xishuanganna, Damenglong 650 m, 16.VII.1958, leg. Zhang Yi-Ran (IZCAS).
Remarks: Female (only sex known) medium-sized (body length 74 mm); unarmed, slender and long, only with a few small granules; with distinct needle-shaped preopercular organ on posteromedian area of seventh sternum; anal segment with a small emargination on posterior margin; all legs smooth and without serrations as far as known (forelegs are missing). Based on the adult morphology, Pachymorpha arguta belongs to the genus Neomedaura , rather than in Pachymorpha and the species is here transferred to Neomedaura in a new combination.
Similar species: The species is closely related to N.yokdonensis Ho, 2020 , but can be distinguished by the female of with distinct needle-shaped preopercular organ on posteromedian area of seventh sternum. In N. yokdonensis the female has a distinct horn-like preopercular organ on posteromedian area of seventh sternum.
