( Figs. 3–4)

Neoperla biprojecta Du, 2001: 76 . Type locality: Zhejiang Province, Mt. Tianmushan.

Supplementary description. Forewing length 15.5 mm. Distance between ocelli slightly wider than diameter of the ocellus. Head slightly wider than pronotum, with a dark brown area between ocelli and a triangular dark stigma on anterior portion of frons ( Fig. 3 A); compound eyes and antennae dark; maxillary palpi pale brown but basal segment brown. Thorax mostly brown, pronotum with scattered, dark rugosities ( Fig. 3 A); wing membrane subhyaline, veins brown; legs dark brown but femora and inner margin of tibia yellowish brown ( Fig. 3 F).

Terminalia . Posterior process of tergum 7 quadrate, covered with small sensilla basiconica ( Fig. 3 B). Tergum 8 with recurved tongue-like process ( Figs. 3 B). Tergum 9 with long hairs. Hemitergal processes of tergum 10 sclerotized and with beak-like apex. Aedeagal tube strongly sclerotized, with a pair of widely separate lobes, in lateral view nipple like and straight ( Figs. 3 C–E). Aedeagal sac short and constricted medially, forming a blunt angle with tube; basal part unarmed and plump, apical half bearing fine spinules ( Figs. 3 D, 4).

Material examined. 1 male, China: Zhejiang Province, Lin’an County, Mt. East Tianmushan, Meijia village, 30.3622 N, 119.5208 E, 2011. V.15, Weihai Li

Distribution. China (Zhejiang).

Diagnosis and remarks. Our specimen from Mt. Tianmushan is clearly N. biprojecta , agreeing well with the original description (see figs. 4 & 5, Du et al. 2001). This species is similar to N. qingyuanensis Yang & Yang and the Vietnamese species, N. yentu Cao & Bae, 2007 , especially in regard to the male terminalia (Cao et al. 2007), the ventral aedeagal lobes, and sac armature. In N. biprojecta , the unarmed portion of the sac beyond the fork is more expanded and much longer than N. yentu ; the fork of N. biprojecta is much shorter and less curved than N. qingyuanensis . Additionally, these other species seem to have different head patterns.
