Type locality: Durban, Natal ( South Africa)
Size: Male: length: 11.1–9.0 mm; width: 5.7–5.0 mm. Female: length: 11.5–9.0 mm; width: 6.0– 4.4 mm.
Diagnosis: Neosisyphus fortuitus is distinguished from other members of the spinipes species group in southern Africa by lacking a spine or projection on the mid-posterior edge of the metafemur. In addition, the projecting metatrochanter is almost ½ of the length of the metafemur in major males. The parameres are distinctly different to those of the other two species within the group ( Fig. 21A View Fig ).

Distribution: N. fortuitus occurs in shaded vegetation in southern ( South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe) and East Africa ( Kenya) ( Fig. 22 View Fig ).
