Type:— SURINAME. [Paramaribo:] Paramaribo, [1849–1855], H. R. Wullschlägel 533 (lectotype, designated here: BR barcode BR0000006572150 !; isolectotype: GOET barcode GOET0011569 View Materials !) .
Notes: —Focke (1853) described N. fragrans without indicating a specific herbarium where the deposit was made. Two samples referring to Wullschlägel 533 were located in the herbaria BR and GOET. The sample deposited in BR as is designated here as a lectotype because it is the most representative for the species, in addition to containing flowers and fruits.
