Description. Body light brown; with dense, short, thin setae, surface appearing opaque due to dense setal punctures. Head with vertexal foveae not noticeably setose; eyes with about 37 facets. Profemora not swollen, same width as mesofemora. Female genitalia 0.09 mm long; with wide, Hshaped sclerite distinct, trapezoidal and apically widened membranous lobe with weakly sclerotized, V-shaped sclerite.
Type Material. Holotype female labeled “ AUSTRALIA:(S) Qnld. Springbrook Nat. Park , Best of all Lookout. 04-3, 7 km S Springbrook, VIII-4-2004, 1000m, DSChandler, rotten wood cool temperate rainforest/ HOLOTYPE Numinbah insperatus Chandler //” ( QMNH) . Paratypes: Two females, eutopotypical ( UNHC) .
Biological and Collection Information. The three known specimens were extracted with a Tullgren funnel from a sample of rotten wood taken at 1,000 m elevation in a cool temperate rainforest during early August.
Distribution. This species is known from a single collection taken at the crest of the Mount Warning/ Tweed caldera, which is at the southern boundary of Springbrook National Park in southeastern Queensland, Australia.
Etymology. The specific name was chosen to reflect the surprise at finding yet another undescribed genus of Trichonychini in Australia.
The key by Chandler (2001) is modified as follows to accommodate Numinbah:
22 (21) Head with broad setose impressions dorsal and mesal to eyes obscuring vertexal foveae; pronotum with median and lateral longitudinal sulci broad and setose ( Chandler 2001: fig. 65) .......... ......................... Eungella Chandler View in CoL
Head lacking broad setose impressions mesal to eyes, vertexal foveae readily visible; pronotum with lateral and median carinae lacking to narrow, rarely broad and setose ( Chandler 2001: fig. 66; Fig. 1 View Fig ) .................................... 22A
22A (22) Pronotum with median longitudinal sulcus, usually with lateral longitudinal sulci, with paranotal carinae; head with lateral postantennal slits, with ocularmandibular carinae; pronotum with antebasal sulcus thin, of even width, nearly straight ( Chandler 2001: fig. 66) ..................... Euplectops Reitter View in CoL Pronotal disc convex, lacking median and lateral longitudinal sulci, lacking paranotal carinae, head lacking postantennal slits and ocular-mandibular carinae; pronotum with antebasal sulcus widest at middle, narrowing laterally to carinate constriction adjacent to lateral antebasal foveae ( Fig. 1 View Fig ) ................... .......
