Type material. Holotype: Mexico: ♂, four labels: “ Cordoba / Mex. Ver. / Dr.A.Fenyes ” [yellowish, printed]; small green star; “A. FENYES / Collection” [orange, printed]; “ OBESOCONNUS / mexicanus m. / det. P. Jałoszyński ’14 / HOLOTYPUS” [red, printed] ( MHNG). Paratype: ♀, same data as holotype, except for yellow "paratypus" label ( MHNG).

Diagnosis. Male and female: frons between eyes much broader than 1/3 HW; pronotal median antebasal pit absent. Male: elytral apices modified, each with distinct small round and shallow impression; aedeagus in ventral view weakly narrowing from middle to apex, with apices of parameres reaching slightly beyond apical margin of median lobe ( Figs. 18–19 View FIGURES 16 – 19 ).

Description. Body of male ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ) strongly convex, dark brown, covered with silverish vestiture; BL 0.90 mm.

Head ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ) broadest at large, strongly convex but moderately coarsely faceted eyes, HL 0.15 mm, HW 0.23 mm; vertex and frons confluent, anterior part of vertex and posterior part of frons with sharply marked short median longitudinal groove; frons between eyes much broader than 1/3 HW; supraantennal tubercles indistinct. Punctation on frons and vertex inconspicuous, fine; setae short, sparse and suberect. Antennae slender but short, AnL 0.23 mm; antennomeres I–II each elongate; III about as long as broad; IV–X each transverse; XI 2.5x as long as X, 1.5x as long as broad.

Pronotum ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ) approximately subtrapezoidal, broadest between middle and anterior third but barely noticeably narrowing posteriorly; PL 0.23 mm, PW 0.30 mm. Anterior margin nearly subtriangular and rounded; lateral margins slightly rounded; posterior corners indistinct, strongly obtuse and blunt; posterior margin weakly arcuate. Pronotum near base with shallow and narrow but distinct transverse groove connecting pair of barely discernible lateral pits, without median pit; area between lateral pit and lateral pronotal margin bearing shallow and large subtriangular impression. Punctation on pronotal disc small and shallow but relatively distinct and dense, separated by spaces equal to 1–1.5x puncture diameters; setae sparse, short and suberect.

Elytra ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ) oval, broadest near anterior third; EL 0.53 mm, EW 0.43 mm, EI 1.24 mm; humeri developed as prominent longitudinal protuberances; elytral apices separately rounded and modified, each bearing large but shallow round impression more distant from posterior than from sutural elytral margin. Punctation on elytra almost as distinct as those on pronotum, especially along suture, where punctation are very dense, punctures becoming smaller, shallower and sparser toward sides and apex of elytra; setae short, sparse and suberect. Hind wings well developed.

Legs moderately long and slender, without modifications.

Aedeagus ( Figs. 14–15 View FIGURES 12 – 15 , 18–19 View FIGURES 16 – 19 ) in ventral view weakly narrowing toward base and apex; AeL 0.23 mm; apical projection broadening distally; orifice at base of parameres located sub-medially; apices of parameres slightly exceeding apical margin of median lobe; each paramere with two short subapical setae.

Female. Similar to male, differs in vertex with superficial impression instead of longitudinal groove and unmodified elytral apices. BL 0.93 mm; HL 0.15 mm, HW 0.23 mm, AnL 0.28 mm; PL 0.23 mm, PW 0.30 mm; EL 0.55 mm, EW 0.45 mm, EI 1.22 mm.

Distribution. South-eastern part of Mexico (Veracruz State) ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 b).

Etymology. Locotypical; after the country name Mexico.
