Type material. Holotype (): Costa Rica, Heredia, Est. Biol. La Selva, 50150 m, 10°26 N, 84°01 W, May 1993, INBioOET// 5 mayo 1993, FOT/04/16 Conceveiba pleiostemona ( INBio).
Derivation of name. From humerus (Latin= shoulder) for the expanded humeri. Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from all other Ocnosispa by the smooth lateral margins of the elytra, the oblong elytral punctures, the angulate lateral margins of the pronotum, and the expanded humeri.
Description. Antennae and eyes black; head, pronotum, elytra, and legs reddishyellow; elytra yellow with black markings. Head: depressed between eyes; medial sulcus present; surface sparsely punctate; frons with tubercle. Antenna: antennomere I subglobose; IIIV cylindrical, II longest; V transverse; VIVII transverse, each length of V; VIIIX cylindrical, thicker than preceding; XI acutely pointed at apex; VIIIXI with pale pubescence. Pronotum: each anterior angle with large tooth; posterior angle angulate; lateral margin angulate in middle, straight and divergent from base to middle, then straight and convergent from middle to apex; transverse basal impression present; disc convex, sparsely punctate medially; densely punctate at sides; pronotal length 2.2 mm; pronotal width 3.1 mm. Scutellum: quadrate; micropunctate. Elytron: expanded to apex; lateral margin smooth; exterior apical angle with tooth; humerus projecting; with 10 rows of punctures; row 10 on marginal lamina, with punctures oblong; intervals 2 and 4 carinate, interval 8 carinate in middle; apices and lateral margins laminate; elytral length 9.7 mm; elytral width 5.1 mm. Venter: last abdominal sternum with fringe of long yellowish setae at apex. Leg: tibia expanded to apex, with fringe of setae at apex; tarsi darker. Total length: 12.4 mm.
