Octotemnus laevis Casey, 1898

Previously recorded from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia ( McNamara 1991) ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ). Lawrence (1971) and Lawrence & Thayer (2002) both pointed out that O. laevis may be conspecific with the Palearctic Octotemnus glabriculus (Gyllenhal) . If this is so, given the very broad distribution of this species in North America ( Lawrence 1982) , it would appear to be a Holarctic species.
