Type locality and data. “ Lamayeque , 5 miles south of Chiclayo 20m, Peru ” (HT, ♂, CAS) .
Material examined. Arica and Parinacota: 1♀, Arica, 5.XI.1902, W. Schnuse ( SMT; Thompson 1999a) .

World distribution. Peru and Chile.
Chilean distribution. Only known from Arica y Parinacota region ( Fig. 55 View FIGURE 55 ).
Altitudinal range. This species could inhabit transverse valleys between 5 and 500 m. a.s.l.
Biology and notes. The particular name of this native flower fly species is a female arbitrary combination which in colloquial English means “ Oh my ” ( Thompson 1999a). All basic aspects of its biology and ecology remain unknown.
Conservation status. DD; AOO = 2 km 2 and one locality (or subpopulation).
