Diagnosis. This species closely resembles four other species: O. captiosana (Falkovitsh) , O. oculata Kim, Byun & Bae , O. subtilana (Falkovitsh) and O. palbongensis sp. nov. Kim & Bae. However, it can be distinguished by its male genitalia, which feature two groups of cornuti.
Material examined. [ Germany] 1 ♂, Hannover Misb Holz, 16 VI 1907, genitalia slide No. MGCL-1174104 ; 1 ♀, Bohemia: Bodenbach. Leg. Zimmermann, 20 VII 1938, genitalia slide No. MGCL-1174105.
Distribution. Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Romania, Slovenia (Andreas et al. 2011).
Host plant. Larvae feed on dead Betula leaves ( Heckford 2011).
Remarks. This species was reported in Korea by Walsingham (1900), but it was corrected later as a misidentification of O. captiosana by Park (1983).
