Opisthacidius mexicanus ( Peláez, 1942)

Lent & Wygodzinsky (1956) gave a key to identify the species of Opisthacidius Berg, 1879 . The male genitalia of the few specimens examined agree completely with the drawings of Lent & Wygodzinsky (1956). Some of the specimens’ labels state that they were preying on Triatominae . This is the most common species of the genus in the collections studied. O. mexicanus was recorded previously from Mexico, Honduras, and Panama ( Lent & Wygodzinsky 1956). It is the first time that the genus is recorded from Colombia ( Fig. 55 ).
