Veracruz: Tinamus major percautus, Cerro Tuxtla View in CoL , 23 Mar. 1940, M.A. Carriker Jr ( Carriker 1944a). Types: Holotype male and allotype female of Ornicholax alienus mexicanus deposited in USNM (68399). Note: Other specimens of O. robustus were described by Carriker (1944a) as “ Ornicholax alienus mexicanus , new subspecies ”.
