Ostorhinchus hartzfeldii (Bleeker 1852) —Hartzfeld's cardinalfish ( Fig. 62 )

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 8 m depth, by Dean Tully on 22 June 2013; a specimen observed south of Nemto Island , New Hanover, 1–12 m depth, St. T 24, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Central Indonesia east to Palau and Papua New Guinea. Found in coastal reefs and lagoons, 1–12 m depth. Marine.
