Distribution: — Thailand, Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Less Sundas, Moluccas, Irian Jaya), the Philippines (Mindanao) and Papua New Guinea.

Notes:—The type of Mephitidia dichotoma Korthals has not been traced. It is probably lost. Therefore a neotype is here designated from a Javan specimen, which is well preserved and with flowers and fruits.
