Holotype male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ ESIII 4.3 / 76.7.4 afternoon / collector:”; (2) handwritten on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / trinivittata / sp.n.”; (3) handwritten on white label: “ Qinghai Menyuan / collector Ya Wu ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Botanophila / trinivittata / (Zheng et Fan) ”.
Preservation: pinned. Missing parts: genitalia; left hind leg; right fore and mid legs; tibia and tarsus of right hind leg.
Current name: Botanophila trinivittata ( Zheng & Fan, 1992) .
