Remarks: The holotype erroneously bears a collection label which states “ Bacteria cyrtocnemis ”. Since the collection label for laticauda is attached to the holotype of Bacteria cyrtocnemis Bates, 1865 the labels have obviously been permuted between these two specimens (see also comments on Phanocloidea cyrtocnemis comb. n.). The paralectotype ♂ of Bostra reducte-dentata Redtenbacher, 1908 is obviously not conspecific with the lectotype, which is a synonym of Ph. muricata ( Burmeister, 1838) , but instead is a specimen of Bates’ laticauda .
