Figure 7 View FIGURE 7
Description. Male. Body small. Head. Fastigium verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded, with a thin furrow on dorsal surface ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ). Eyes nearly hemispherical, projecting outwards ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ). Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones, apices slightly inflated ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ). Pronotum. Anterior margin arched, posterior margin narrowly rounded; lateral lobes longer than high, narrowing to backward, without humeral sinus ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ). Wings. Tegmina covered by pronotum, apices reaching the middle area of second abdominal tergite, apices obtusely rounded; hind wings absent ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ). Legs. Procoxae with 1 spine. Profemora and mesofemora unarmed on ventral surfaces, apices of genicular lobes of postfemora obtusely rounded ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ). Protibiae and mesotibiae with 4 internal and 5 external spines on ventral surfaces, apices with 1 pair of ventral spurs ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ). Protibial tympana opened on both sides, long oval ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ). Posttibiae with 27–30 internal spines and 25–29 external spines on dorsal surface, ventral surface with 3–6 internal spines and 6 external spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs. Abdomen. Tenth abdominal tergite posteriorly with rounded concave ( Fig. 7F View FIGURE 7 ). Basal half of cerci stout, internal margin concave, interno-dorsal and interno-ventral margins of basal half with narrow expansion; the middle of ventral margin with 1 small triangular lobe, its apex directing upward ( Fig. 7F View FIGURE 7 ); apical half right-angled, incurved with 2 branches: the dorsal branch triangular, ventral branch “spiniform”, obvious longer than the dorsal branch with apex subacute ( Fig. 7G, F View FIGURE 7 ). Subgenital plate with broad basal area, narrowing to backward, lateral margins slightly curved dorsally, posterior margin with long spine-shaped projecting, apex acute ( Fig. 7I View FIGURE 7 ). Styli conical, apices obtuse, inserted at the apical third of subgenital plate on the ventral margin ( Fig. 7G View FIGURE 7 ).
Female. Unknown.
Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes dark brown. Internal margins of antennal sockets dark brown, scapes and pedicelli with black internal margins, flagellums with brownish rings. Disc of head with 4 longitudinal black brown stripes. Dorsal surface of pronotum dark brown with 1 longitudinal black stripe on each side, the black stripe extending to the middle of metazona. Apices of mesofemora and mesotibiae, and the base of mesotibiae dark brown. Posttibiae with dark brown spines. Abdominal tergites with blackish brown dorsal surfaces and dark brown lateral margins. Sternites brownish.
Material examined. Holotype: male, Gulinqing, Maguan , Yunnan, October 29, 2022, coll. by Xiangjin Liu.
Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 10.3; pronotum: ♂ 4.6; tegmen: ♂ 3.2; postfemur: ♂ 10.0.
Distribution. Yunnan (Maguan).
Discussion. The new species is similar to Phlugiolopsis brevibranchia , but differs from the latter as follows: apices of male cerci with triangular dorsal branch, obviously shorter than the ventral branch; the apical area of male subgenital plate is long and narrow.
Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the apices of male cerci with triangular dorsal branch.
