Type (lectotype, designated here):— CUBA. Prov. Guantánamo: Mun. Baracoa, orillas del río Báez, entre Camarones y Mina Amores , 155 m, 74°37’320’’O, 20°24’551’’N, 8 March 2002, J. Gutiérrez, E. Köhler & K. Zoglauer HFC-79693 (JE barcode JE00025337!; image of the lectotype available at https://je.jacq.org/JE00025337) .

Note:— Casper (2004, 2019) did not see the specimen at HAJB that he designated as holotype and to date it has not been found in the collection (Eldis R. Bécquer, pers. comm., 17 April 2023). Thus, the isotype housed at JE is here designated as lectotype. Moreover, the gathering cited in the protologue as “HFC-799693” contains a typographic error; the correct number was cited by Casper (2019) as “HFC-79693” and can also be checked in the photograph of the isotype included in the protologue.
