Distribution:— The Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina and southwestern China.

Coelogyne pulchella Rolfe, Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew 1898: 194, 1898 . Type:— MYANMAR (‘ SE Asia’). Without locality: comm. & imp. s.n. (holotype: K)

Specimens examined:— SHAN. Taunggyi District: fide Nyan Tun (2014: 127; as C. prolifera ); same loc., Saw Lwin s.n. ( SING [s]) . KAYIN. Kawkareik District: Bogg s.n. in Maymyo Bot. Gard. 13527 ( K). WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type.

Distribution:— Myanmar and southwestern China.

Notes:— There are also drawings and cultivated specimens preserved at Kew. In Myanmar the plants of this species are sometimes misidentified as C. prolifera , presumably following misidentification by Vaddhanaphuti (2001: 77).
