Material examined. JAPAN: Fukushima Prefecture, Inawashiro, Kurobe Joka Center , holotype male, 25.ix.1997, T. Ogata ( NMST No. 321:49) .
Diagnostic characters. The superior volsella is small and differs from most species by having a broad and low base bearing 3 inner setae and a slightly curved projection bearing 1 lateral seta. The gonostylus is relatively stout, widest at about middle, with pointed apex.
Male (n = 1)
A detailed description is provided by Sasa and Ogata (1999), but the wing membrane lacks macrotrichia.
