Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♀: CHILE, Cape Horn archipelago, Orange Bay ( NMPC, transferred to alcohol vial) (Labels, kept in box IV.17: Museum Paris / Arch. du Cap Horn / Baie Orange / Hyades & Hahn 1885 (printed); 2886 / 85 (handwritten round label); B. Orange (printed); Type (red, printed); Perla myrmidon / Jules Mabille (Mabille handwritten)) ; PARALECTOTYPE ♂ of Perla infuscata Blanchard, 1851 , present designation: CHILE ( NMPC, transferred to alcohol vial) (Labels, kept in box IV.17: Museum Paris / Chili / Gay 15-43 (printed); 15 / 43 (handwritten round label); Type (red, printed); Perla / infuscata / Blanc (Blanchard handwritten)).

Remarks. Illies (1963) assigned this widespread species to Mabille's Perla myrmidon on the basis of wing characters and body proportions described and illustrated in the original description ( Mabille 1891). The type specimen found in the NMPC can be treated as holotype ( Figs. 3–4 View FIGURES 3 – 8 ), as the original description clearly refers to a single individual. The terminalia characters confirms Illies' assignation ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 3 – 8 ). One of the paralectotype of Perla infuscata belongs to this species.
