SYNTYPES: ZMB 49.298 (acquisition number B.824). Female. Loc.: Kaiser­Wilhelms­Land [= Huon Peninsula, Papua New Guinea, c. 6°20' S, 147°20' E]. Date : before 2 April 1913 [acquisition date]. Coll.: Neuguinea­Companie [Skin, data on ZMB label] . ZMB 2002.502 [new registration] (acquisition number B.824). Female. Loc.: Kaiser­Wilhelms­Land. Date : before 2 April 1913 [acquisition date]. Coll.: Neuguinea­Companie [Skin, data on ZMB label] .

COMMENTS: Reichenow referred exclusively to female specimens. Therefore a male specimen with the same origin, ZMB 2002.520 , has no type status. The number of type specimens was not given in the original description, however today the ZMB holds two female specimens of the taxon from Kaiser­Wilhelms­Land (= the former name of the entire German New Guinea possessions). The type locality was subsequently restricted to the Huon Peninsula (Mayr 1962: 193) .
