Basionym:— Polygonum megalophyllum Tanai & Suzuki (1965: 24) .
Type:— JAPAN. Hokkaido, Kamishanabuchi, along Minami-zawa, Engaru-cho, Monbetsugun (holotype TNS-HUMP-25676, figured by Tanai & Suzuki 1965: pl. 9, fig. 6).
Stratigraphy:—Upper Miocene (Shanabuchi Formation).
Status:—Leaves.

Note:— The fossil leaves of Reynoutria - type, described as a distinct fossil-species Polygonum megalophyllum Tanai & Suzuki (1965: 24) from the Upper Miocene sediments of Japanese Archipelago (Kamishanabuchi, Hokkaido), is recombined into Reynoutria .
