Rhinetula rufiventris Friese, 1922: 584 . Holotype male, Bolivia: Tarata (ZMHB, not examined). Rhinetula denticrus ; Roberts & Brooks, 1987 (in part).

Comments

As pointed out in the comments of the previous species, the name R. rufiventris should be used for the South American species. We have not seen females of R. rufiventris , and therefore, are unable to present diagnostic characters to separate females of the two species.

Male diagnosis

Head erect pubescence light brown on lower parocular area and entirely fulvous on frons and vertex. Clypeus mostly smooth; supraclypeal area without strong ridges, only finely rugose. Legs and terga amber. Hind leg with ventral femoral tooth with a round apex. Erect setae on T4­T6 light brown, decumbent hairs abundant and entirely covering the terga. S7–8 and genitalia as in Figs. 11 and 15–17 , respectively.
