Rhotana cribraria Zelazny View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Figs. 69, 70, 242)
Description. Forewings 1.7 times longer than wide, length: male 3.6–4.1 mm (mean = 3.8, n= 3), female about 3.9 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown; a mark at junction of frons and clypeus, middle of pronotum, some parts of the thoracic pleura, and fore tibiae faintly tinted with orange; mesonotum dark brown, but scutellum stramineous; abdomen light brown, genital styles tinted with orange. Forewings light brown, interrupted by many, well defined lighter areas; a dark brown mark around last subcostal sector; veins stramineous but second and fourth subcostal sector, most of Sc, R, and M, and apical parts of median sectors orange-red. Hindwings with apical third infuscated, interrupted by lighter areas; middle of hindwings faintly infuscated; veins stramineous to light brown. Facial carinae contiguous up to lower margin of eyes; rostrum just reaching hind coxae; subantennal processes and lateral carinae of pronotum poorly developed. Forewings with apical part of Sc sinuate, Sc+R fork well before middle of wing; Ms1 branched just before its middle, Ms1b merging with apical part of Cu1 for a short section, a small triangle at base of Ms1. Pygofer of male genitalia with short, lateral projections. Genital styles widening towards end; proximal dorsal process small, distal dorsal process elongated, a small hump between both. Aedeagus with apical portion large, bearing a prominent, pointed process on the right side, slightly curved to the right.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (cribrarius, -a, -um = sieve-like).

Distribution. North Borneo.
Diagnosis. Rhotana cribraria is similar to R. torrevillasi sp. nov. from the Philippines. However all veins of the hindwings are stramineous to light brown, and the infuscation in the apical third of the hindwings is interrupted. The males can be easily recognized by the prominent, pointed process on the apical part of the aedeagus.
