Description. Forewings 2.1 times longer than wide, length in male 2.4–2.9 mm (mean = 2.6, n = 3). Colour stramineous; a red mark above eyes; margins of facial carinae in front of eyes orange-red; middle of frons very faintly orange; tip of clypeus dark red (holotype) to faintly red; tip of labium light orange; fore legs dark red; bases and tips of middle femora with dark red marks; middle tarsi dark red; last two abdominal segments tinted with orange. Apical half of forewings lightly infuscated, interrupted by small clear areas; basal half clear, but with faint infuscations from clavus tip to base of Ms1; a dark spot at apex of Cu; veins stramineous to light brown but following veins red: M between bases of Ms2 and Ms3, Sc and R after separating, last two subcostal sectors, most of costal margin and apical margin; base of Sc+R with four dark spots. In profile junction of vertex and face strongly angulated; subantennal processes connected to margins of facial carinae by a low ridge; rostrum reaching hind trochanters. Forewings with Sc+R fork just before middle of wing; basal median cell broad, about double as wide as basal cell between Sc+R and M; a small triangle at base of Ms1. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles widening towards end; proximal dorsal process short; distal dorsal process long. Stem of aedeagus widening before apical portion; apical part slender, with a dorsal, longitudinal groove, and near tip with a short, slightly pointed, dorsal lobe.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (coloratus, -a, -um = coloured).
Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 2.9 mm), EAST MALAYSIA: NORTH BORNEO: SABAH; labels: 1) BRITISH N. BORNEO / Tawau, Quoin Hill / Cocoa Res. Sta. / 6.IX.1962 2) Y. Hirashima / Malaise Trap / BISHOP ( BPBM). Paratypes. BRUNEI: Labi / Bukit Teraja / 30km S.E. of Seria / 21–28.iii.1979, primary mixed/dipterocarp/ forest, alt. 60m, light trap 2/75 and 50m. above ground/ L. Sutton /B.M. 1985-50, ♂ (fw. 2x 2.4) ( BMNH) .
Distribution. North Borneo.
Diagnosis. Saccharodite colorata is characterized by the combination of the angulated profile of the head and the forewings being infuscated in its apical half but clear in its basal half.
