Remarks. The syntypes are dry-mounted on four slides, the cover slips ringed with paraffin wax, most specimens entire and in good condition, several specimens with head separated or antennae broken off. Sactogaster is considered a subgenus of Synopeas following Vlug (1995). The species name should be madagascariense since the ending of Synopeas is directly transliterated from the Greek neuter noun οπεας, the genus has neuter gender (ICZN 1999: Art. 30.1.2).
