DIAGNOSIS. This species ( Figs. 66, 66 View FIGURES 55–66 ) is distinguished by red hemelytra, dark reddish-brown ventral surface, the uniformly pale legs, the long, slender tubercle ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 129–137 ) on the male genital capsule and the S-shaped right paramere ( Fig. 118 View FIGURES 113–118 ).

It is extremely similar to S. pallipes in the overall color, but differs in the male genitalia, especially the much more slender genital tubercle and the S-shaped rather than C-shaped right paramere. It differs from S. fuscotibialis by the pale legs, slender genital tubercle, and S-shaped, apically acute right paramere.

DESCRIPTION. Male: (n = 3; holotype measurements in parentheses): Length from apex of head to cuneal fracture 3.10–3.55 mm (3.25 mm); length from apex of head to apex of membrane 4.05–4.65 mm (4.35 mm); widest point across hemelytra 1.47–1.76 mm (1.70 mm). Head: Width across eyes 1.15–1.23 mm (1.22 mm); interocular width 0.66–0.69 mm (0.66 mm). Labium: Length 2.05–2.21 mm (2.05 mm), extending to abdominal segment III or slightly beyond. Antenna: Segment I length 0.51–0.58 mm (0.58 mm); II, 0.93–0.99 mm (0.98 mm); III, 0.61–0.69 mm (0.61 mm); IV, 0.72–0.74 mm (0.69 mm). Pronotum: Median length 0.74–0.90 mm (0.83 mm); posterior width 1.23–1.41 mm (1.33 mm).

Macropterous, elongate oval. COLORATION. Head: Grayish white, posterior margin of vertex pinkish red; clypeus and gena dark brown; eyes purplish red to reddish brown. Labium: Pale yellow. Antenna: Dark brown. Pronotum: Whitish to yellowish gray, furrows around calli and calli pale brown, disc brown, anterior and posterior margins pale or whitish. Mesoscutum: Pale reddish brown. Scutellum: Grayish brown, with lateral raised V-shaped margins often contrastingly paler yellow. Hemelytron: Pale red, lateral corial margins and lateral margins of cuneus pale yellowish red, costal margin and claval commissure tinged dark brown; membrane clear, veins dark brown.

Ventral surface: Thorax reddish brown; abdomen reddish, sometimes pale yellow ventrally. Legs: Pale yellow. SURFACE AND VESTITURE and STRUCTURE. As in generic description.
