Diagnosis: Length 1.8 to 2.3 mm; width 1.3 to 1.6 mm. Dorsal color black, except head, pronotum and apical border of elytra orange; ventral color black, except legs, antennae, mouthparts and last three ventrites orange. Male first ventrite with triangular area lacking pubescence, located at center, extending to apical margin; fifth ventrite emarginate, depressed; sixth ventrite depressed. Male genitalia with wide, short, heavily sclerotized parameres ( Fig. 13 View Figs ); apex of penis guide elongate, acute ( Fig. 14 View Figs ).
Material Examined: More than 60 specimens from the Mexican states of Tamaulipas and Hidalgo .
Distribution: North America ( Gordon 1976, 1985). In Mexico, this species has previously been collected in the state of Tamaulipas ( Rodríguez-Vélez et al. 2016; Ruíz and Coronado 2002).
New Localities: HIDALGO: (13♀, 4♂) Huazalingo ( FIC) .
Biology: In Mexico, this species has been collected between altitudes of 800 to 1,800 m, and in the biomes of high evergreen forest, high scrub, mesophilic forest, pine-oak forest, and oak forest.
