Range: —Andes from Colombia to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP).
Ecology: —Common; terrestrial and among rocks in humid forest; 1200–3000 m.
Notes: —Young plants may be unbranched with densely imbricate leaves and can then resemble small specimens of
Selaginella chrysoleuca . There is some geographical variation in this species; more than one taxon may be involved.
