Note: — Cabrera (1985) tentatively placed Senecio stylotrichus in S. sect. Aetheolaena . It was later transferred to Lasiocephalus by Cuatrecasas (1994). Since this species has dorsally pilose style branches, its taxonomic position is unclear and additional data need to be obtained to confirm its phylogenetic/taxonomic placement.
