Sesleria klasterskyi Deyl (1946: 144) View in CoL
Lectotype (designated here):— BULGARIA. Blagoevgrad province: Pirin Mountain, ad oppidium Bansko [beside the town Bansko], Vallis [valley] Banderica , ca [circa] 1900 m, solo calcareo [only calcareous rocks], 6 July 1936, I. Klášterský & M. Deyl s.n. ( PR 161801 !). Figure 5 View FIGURE 5 .
Other original material examined:— BULGARIA. Blagoevgrad province: Pirin Mountain, ad oppidium Bansko [beside the town Bansko], Vallis [valley] “Banderica”, ca. [circa] 2300 m, solo calcareo [only calcareous rocks], July 1936, I. Klášterský & M. Deyl s.n. ( PR 161798!, 161799!)
Note:—In the protologue Deyl mentioned that he had collected a lot of specimens of this species with Ivan Klášterský on Pirin Mountain, in the valley Banderica in June 1936: “ Habitat in subalpinis montium Pirin planina, in valle Banderica, alt. circa 1850 m, substrato calcareo.” He also pointed out that typically developed plants grow at the altitude of about 1850 m a.s.l. We found three specimens collected in PR in this locality exclusively on calcareous bedrock, which we consider to be original material. Although Deyl said that he collected the material in June, all the specimens have July as collecting date, which is probably a typing error. None of the labels of these specimens have details that correspond completely with the protologue, but the specimen PR 161801 was collected at the closest altitude (ca. 1900 m), so we designate it here as lectotype.
