Etymology: The species name is derived from the Malayan word “empat“ meaning “four” and referring to the four eyes of the spider; term in apposition.

Diagnosis: Males of S. empat spec. nov. are similar to those of S. deminutiva spec. nov. ( Figs. 9 View FIGURES 9 a–c) and S. longicymbialis spec. nov. ( Figs. 27 View FIGURES 27 a–c) in having an elongated cymbium. They can be distinguished from S. deminutiva spec. nov. by 1. four eyes without pigments (eyes reduced in size and only AME with pigments in S. deminutiva spec. nov.), 2. opisthosoma whitish-yellow (grey in S. deminutiva spec. nov.), 3. embolus longer than embolic apophysis (embolus shorter than embolic apophysis in S. deminutiva spec. nov.), 4. embolic apophysis as wide as embolus (nearly five times as wide as embolus in S. deminutiva spec. nov.), 5. spermophor straight (slightly curved in S. deminutiva spec. nov.) and 6. vRTA bifurcated and tapering in retrolateral view, dRTA nearly two times as long as vRTA in ventral view (vRTA with single tip, wide and rounded in retrolateral view, dRTA nearly third times as long as vRTA in ventral view in S. deminutiva spec. nov.); from S. longicymbialis spec. nov. by 1. smaller body size reaching 11.00 and legs not elongated (17.50 and legs distinctly elongated in S. longicymbialis spec. nov.), 2. four eyes without pigments (eight with pigments in S. longicymbialis spec. nov.), 3. embolus longer than embolic apophysis and with tip without spine (embolus shorter than embolic apophysis and with spine at tip in S. longicymbialis spec. nov.), 4. conductor with distal part wider than proximal part in ventral view (conductor with distal part nearly as wide as proximal part in ventral view in S. longicymbialis spec. nov.), 5. embolic apophysis with distal part as wide as embolus (distal part wider than embolus in S. longicymbialis spec. nov.) and 6. RTA with vRTA nearly half the size of dRTA and distally bifurcated in ventral view (vRTA slightly shorter than dRTA and with single tip in ventral view in S. longicymbialis spec. nov.).

Description: Male (holotype): Total length 11.00; prosoma 5.60 long, 4.80 wide, anterior width of prosoma 2.50; opisthosoma 5.40 long, 3.10 wide. Eye measurements: AME and PME including lenses and pigments absent, remnants of lenses of ALE and PLE present: ALE 0.11; PLE 0.14; ALE–PLE 0.41; clypeus ALE 0.40. Leg formula: 2413. Measurements of palp and legs: palp: 10.30 (3.60, 1.50, 2.20, 3.00); I: 35.60 (10.00, 3.60, 10.60, 9.20, 2.20); II: 40.50 (11.10, 3.80, 12.80, 10.50, 2.30); III: 33.70 (9.40, 3.10, 10.40, 8.80, 2.00); IV: 36.70 (9.90, 3.00, 11.00, 10.50, 2.30). Spination: palp: 131, 101, 2122; legs: Fe I–III 323, IV 322; Pa I–IV 101; Ti I–IV 2326; Mt I–II 1014, III 2024, IV 2026. Cheliceral furrow with 3 anterior and 4 posterior teeth.

Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma yellow with light reddish stripes. Sternum yellowish-white with brown margin. Opisthosoma whitish-yellow without patterning, ventral part whitish-yellow with two longitudinal grey stripes, anteriorly white. Chelicerae yellow, laterally reddish-brown. Palps and legs yellowish-white.

Palp as in diagnosis. Embolus slender and nearly straight in ventral view. Tip of embolic apophysis bent prolaterally. Spermophore straight and wide in ventral view. Conductor arising from 12-o’clock-position, distal part wide and bent ventrally. Tegulum with median part wider than proximal part. vRTA wide, in ventral view with two tapering tips, in retrolateral view only one tip visible. dRTA slender, in retrolateral view bent disto-ventrally.

Female: Unknown.

Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
