Sinopoda lot View in CoL spec. nov.
Figs 53 View FIGURES 53 a–b, 60 e–f
Type material: Holotype: female ( PJ 1804 , SD 1655), THAILAND: Mae Hong Son Province: near Sop Pong, Tham Lot , 19 November 2000, field number SP.0071 ( MHNG).
Etymology: The species name is derived from the type locality; term in apposition.
Diagnosis: Females of S. lot spec. nov. are similar to those of S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov. ( Fig. 52 View FIGURES 52 d–e) and S. phathai spec. nov. ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 54 a–b) in the diagnostic characters of the species group. They can be distinguished from S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov. by 1. epigynal field longer than wide (wider than long in S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov.), 2. lateral margin of epigynal pockets not extending anteriorly of lobal septum (extending anteriorly of lobal septum in S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov.), 3. distance between anterior ends of epigynal pockets nearly equal to epigyne width (only half of epigyne width in S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov.), 4. sclerotised bulges with anterior part rounded (anterior part straight in S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov.), 5. posterior part of spermathecae partially fused (spermathecae only fused at anterior part in S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov.) and 6. glandular appendages curved (straight and distal part bent laterally in S. chiangmaiensis spec. nov.); from S. phathai spec. nov. by 1. sclerotised bulges extending not in posterior half of epigyne and anterior part rounded (extending in posterior half of epigyne and anterior part curved medially and lateral part straight in S. phathai spec. nov.), 2. distance between anterior ends of epigynal pockets nearly equal to epigyne width (nearly two-third of epigyne width in S. phathai spec. nov.), 3. spermathecae with anterior part curved and median part without small bulges (anterior part semicircular and median part with small bulges in S. phathai spec. nov.), 4. glandular appendages curved (straight in S. phathai spec. nov.) and 5. fertilization ducts slender and short (long and curved in S. phathai spec. nov.).
Description: Female (holotype): Total length 16.00; prosoma 7.30 long, 6.80 wide, anterior width of prosoma 4.10; opisthosoma 8.70 long, 5.20 wide. Eye measurements: AME 0.30; ALE 0.43; PME 0.28; PLE 0.44; AME– AME 0.22; AME–ALE 0.10; PME–PME 0.45; PME–PLE 0.47; AME–PME 0.43; ALE–PLE 0.35; clypeus AME 0.39; clypeus ALE 0.40. Leg formula: 2143. Measurements of palp and legs: palp: 12.20 (3.60, 2.00, 2.70, 3.90); I: 35.00 (9.20, 4.20, 10.10, 9.10, 2.40); II: 39.20 (10.60, 4.50, 11.40, 10.20, 2.50); III: 32.50 (9.20, 3.80, 9.20, 8.10, 2.20); IV: 34.40 (9.70, 3.60, 9.40, 9.30, 2.40). Spination: palp: Fe 131/141, Pa 101/201, Ti 2121, Mt 1014; legs: Fe I 323/423, Fe II–III 323, IV 331; Pa I–IV 101; Ti I–III 2026, IV 2226; Mt I–II 0004, III 2016, IV 3036. Cheliceral furrow with 3 anterior and 4 posterior teeth.
Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma brown, laterally with reddish-brown stripes. Sternum yellowish-brown with brown margin. Opisthosoma ventrally and dorsally yellowish-white, dorso-medially with four small brown dots. Chelicerae reddish-brown. Palps yellowish-brown; Mt distally reddish-brown. Legs yellowish-brown.
Copulatory organ as in diagnosis [distal part of right glandular appendage detached]. Epigynal field with two long, narrow anterior bands, left band discontinuous, with two slit sensilla. Sclerotized bulges partially covered by lateral lobes. Lateral lobes fused with weak slight median indentation posteriorly. Slender lobal septum. Fusion bubbles arranged medially at longitudinal line on epigyne. Spermathecae fused along median line, posterior part rounded, bulging postero-laterally, anterior part bulging postero-laterally. Fertilization ducts arising from small elevations postero-medially on posterior part of spermathecae.
Male: Unknown.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
