Catrimania Fennah, 1968: 176 View in CoL View at ENA .

Type-species: Sphenorhina semivitrea Walker, 1858: 184 , by original designation.

Diagnosis. Postclypeus not laterally inflated; obtusely and regularly rounded in profile; medial carina and lateral horizontal ridges distinct. Forewing slender; slightly less than 2.8 times width at level of apex of clavus; prominent venation at middle and apical third. Hind tibia with subbasal spine small, equal in size to spines in apical crown. Subgenital plate dorsal surface with or without a long, slender, posterodorsally curving, spine-like process. Aedeagus shaft upright, slender; in some species densely covered with small tooth-like spines. Paramere simple, slender; apical and dorsal setae very long; apical spine directed posteriorly. First valvulae of the ovipositor with one basal ventral process.

Remarks. Catrimania is easily distinguished from other Neotropical cercopid genera by the prominent reticulated venation at the median and apical third of the forewing, and the structure of the male genitalia.
