Florida: in the Everglades between Homestead and Camp Jackson, 04–11 May 1904, J. K. Small & P. Wilson 1580 (NY 00148783!, isolectotypes NY 00148782!, US 00096661!).
Small (1905) mentioned that the types of the species described in his work were deposited in NY. He also provided specifications of the type collection “ in everglades between Homestead and Camp Jackson, in May, 1904 (Small & Wilson, no. 1580) ”. However, two specimens of Small & Wilson 1580 were found in NY ; NY 00148783 is chosen as the lectotype based on its state of conservation.
