Stilocladius Rossaro, 1979 View in CoL
We collected an adult male of Stilocladius kurobekeyakia (Sasa & Okazawa, 1992) from the South Fork Chester Creek in mid-July in the Anchorage area ( Fig. 11B–C View FIGURE 11 ). This is a new faunistic record for the Nearctic. We collected two males of the new species Stilocladius kiethsomersi sp. nov. from around Montana Creek in Juneau in mid-August. The report of the larvae of Stilocladius montanus (AWQMS 2005) from streams in the Arctic Coastal Plain turned out to be an unknown Parakieferriella species. Unknown larvae of Stilocladius have been reported from Indian River Basin, tributaries to the Stuyahok and Koktuli Rivers in the Arctos database (2023). We also collected larvae from Wasilla Creek in the Mat-Su Valley. Other reports of larvae come from Hayford et al. (2014), reporting a possible new species of Stilocladius from the Kuskokwim River. Larvae of species in this genus are small and associated with springs and small streams (Andersen et al. 2013).
