Tabanus quatuornotatus View in CoL is a Palearctic species, recorded from Europe, Russia, Transcaucasia, Middle Asia, Turkey, and Iran (Popescu–Mirceni 2012). Moreover, the species was collected from Morocco and Tunisia (Oldroyed 1954). Tabanus quatuornotatus View in CoL was recorded from Jordan and Syria ( Müller et al. 2011; Popescu–Mirceni 2012). This species is medium sized with hairy body and eyes, the frons with three big black calli ( Leclercq 1966). It was found that the number of chromosomes in the somatic cells is 16 ( Al-Tunsoy & Kılıç 2010).
