Type locality: Mexico (Morelos, Tabasco) and Costa Rica (Cache). STs M, F (BMNH). Distr.: Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Trinidad, Guyana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and Argentina ( Guimarães, 1971a; Coelho et al., 1989; Reinhard, 1931: 42; Thompson, 1963b: 974). Refs.: Reinhard, 1931: 42 (redesc., key); Thompson, 1963b: 974 (as mima View in CoL , redesc., notes, key to Trinidad species); Guimarães, 1971a: 197 (cat.); Coelho et al. 1989: 281 (rev., key to South American species, synonymies).
