Remarks
Tanaopsis graciloides View in CoL is a boreal species found from Norway down to northern France, normally in heterogeneous sediments, as found here. It is common in, for example, the Irish Sea, and its presence (in appropriate habitats) in the Isles of Scilly is no surprise. The record for the Italian coast given by Holdich and Jones (1983) is based on an assumed synonymy of T. laticaudatus (Sars, 1882) View in CoL , but that synonymy has recently been doubted ( Bamber et al. 2009).
