Dracoglossum plantagineum (Jacq.) Christenh., Thaiszia View in CoL 17(1–2): 7. 2007.
= Tectaria plantaginea (Jacq.) Maxon, Contr. U.S. Natl. Herb. 10: 494. 1908.
Range:— Greater Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (CO, LP) and Amazonian Brazil.
Ecology:— Rare; on rocky or clayey substrate in or along streams, in shaded gullies, or occasionally terrestrial in the shade of humid lowland or lower montane forests; to 450 m, elsewhere to 800(1000) m.
Notes:— The sister species, D. sinuatum (Fée) Christenh. , from northern South America south to northern Brazil and coastal Ecuador, differs by having peltate indusia and somewhat narrower blades. It is unlikely to occur in Bolivia, but any specimens of the genus from Bolivia should be checked for the presence of indusia.
