Type material. Holotype: male ( RMNH), Tham Kaew Cave, Hua Hin, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park [12°35'40.77ʺN, 99°57'25.58ʺE], Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand, 3 January 1989, C.L. Deeleman- Reinhold leg. Paratypes: 2 males, 9 females, same data as holotype.

Etymology. The specific name is from Latin word “acus”, meaning “needle”, and refers to the needle-shaped embolus; adjective.

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to T. liangxi Zhu & Chen, 2002 , but can be distinguished by the absence of eyes and the long legs, the needle-shaped embolus ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A 2A–B) in the male, and the tube-shaped, spiral spermatheca ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 B, 3E) in the female.

Description. Male (holotype). Total length 0.98. Prosoma 0.46 long, 0.41 wide. Opisthosoma 0.52 long, 0.46 wide. Sternum 0.28 long, 0.25 wide. Prosoma and legs, yellowish; sternum, labium, endites, and chelicerae yellow. Eyeless, with two pairs of setae on the ocular area. Chelicerae ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A) longer than endites, with two teeth and four denticles on the promargin, and four small teeth on the retromargin. Palp and leg measurements: palp 0.63 (0.18, 0.06, 0.12, –, 0.27); I 4.11 (1.28, 0.18, 1.24, 0.86, 0.55); II 3.64 (1.10, 0.18, 1.08, 0.78, 0.50); III 2.81 (0.87, 0.18, 0.82, 0.54, 0.40); IV 3.53 (1.08, 0.14, 0.96, 0.54, 0.81). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Male palp ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A, 2A–B): bulb whitish, oval; embolus long, needle-shaped, approximately 1.5 the length of bulb. Opisthosoma oval, whitish, covered with long setae.

Female (one of the paratypes). Similar to male in coloration and general features, but with a larger body size and shorter legs. Total length 1.24. Prosoma 0.48 long, 0.46 wide. Opisthosoma 0.60 long, 0.58 wide. Sternum 0.31 long, 0.29 wide. Palp and leg measurements: palp 0.67 (0.20, 0.07, 0.15, –, 0.25); I 3.82 (1.10, 0.18, 1.16, 0.84, 0.54); II 3.53 (1.06, 0.18, 1.02, 0.75, 0.52); III 2.69 (0.90, 0.16, 0.70, 0.52, 0.41); IV 3.27 (1.04, 0.16, 0.89, 0.68, 0.50). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Genital area ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C) with setae on epigynal plate. Spermatheca ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 B, 3E), tube-shaped, spiral.

Variation. Total length: males: 0.98–1.02 (n = 3); females: 1.20–1.24 (n = 9).

Distribution. Thailand (Prachuap Khiri Khan), known only from the type locality ( Fig. 16 View FIGURE 16 ).
