Vertex ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) brownish yellow, anterior region dark reddish brown; anterior margin strongly produced and angulate medially, its median length little longer than width between eyes; coronal suture obvious. Eyes black. Pronotum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) broad, but little short in length, anterior area light; posterior area dark, approximately brownish red. Scutellum ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) brownish yellow; basal triangles brownish red; transverse impression short but straight. Forewing ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) with clavus and apical part dark; fore margin and hind margin of brochosome field also dark; 3rd apical cell with an oval dark spot.
Abdominal apodemes ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) long and broad, extending to posterior margin of 5th sternite.
Male genitalia: Pygofer lobe ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) with hind margin divided into two lobes, caudo-dorsal lobe sclerotized strongly, very dark, caudo-ventral lobe with several long rigid macrosetae. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) long and slender, with few lobes at apex, and with a macrosetae at sub-base and sub-apex respectively. Style ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) bent laterad apically, with row of fine setae and some sensory pits at sub-apex. Aedeagus ( Figs. 7, 8 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) with pair of long basal processes, curved dorsad slightly, not helical. Aedeagal shaft ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) long and slim, gonopore apical, ventrad. Connective ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) Yshaped, stem as long as arms, central lobe compressed, with weak median ridge.
Specimen examined: Holotype: male, Mengla County, Yunnan Province, China, 17 July 2008, coll. Yong Chen. Paratypes: one male, same data as holotype; one male, Banna National Nature Reserve, Mengla County, 19 July 2008, coll. Xiaohong Jiang.
Measurement: Body length males 2.7~2.8 mm.
Remarks: The new species can be distinguished from other species of the genus by its unique aedeagal basal processes, which are curved dorsad slightly, not helical.
Etymology: The specific name is derived from the Latin word “ boa ” (lusty, robust), referring to the basal processes of aedeagal shaft very large and strong.
