Thyatira Opalescens Alphéraky, 1897 View in CoL , Mémoires sur les lépidoptères 9: 135, pl. 9, fig. 7.

Type locality: “dans une vallée nommée Tchin-Kiaïsituée au Nord de Tâ-tsien-loû”. Present status: Psidopala opalescens ( Alphéraky, 1897) .

Nomenclatural notes: In the original description, the species was described based on “ ♂ ♀ ” collected on “ 15 Juillet 1893 ”. Two specimens have been found in ZISP but both are females (cabinet 217/drawer 6). One of them was designated a lectotype by László & al. (2007: 178) as Psidopala opalesens Alph. The second female is supplied with an additional red rectangular label: « Paralectotype ♀ | Thyatira opalescens | Alphéraky, 1897 | Design. V.G. Mironov | et V. V. Zolotuhin, 2019”.

Only two females are present and no male. It is possible that S. Alphéraky had wrongly interpreted gender in one specimen or that the type series included more than these 2 specimens.
