Trichocerca obtusidens (Olofsson)

According to Segers (2003), T. obtusidens is restricted to the Northern hemisphere and is rather common in cold environments. The present, Australian material of this unmistakable species refutes this, and indicates that a preference for relatively colder environments may be the key factor explaining the distribution of the species.
