Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Troj[anus] panthous, Cramer, 1777: 39–40 , 150, pl 123, fig. A, pl. 124, fig. A [original plate 87, figs A, A]. ‘Isle d’Amboine’ [= Indonesia, Ambon] (A. Gevers) (also male in coll. Baron Rengers ‘qui differe fort peu dans le dessein, étant seulement un peu plus petit’ [which differs but little in design, being only a little smaller]).

Material examined. 1 ♀, with van Lennep label ‘ No. 9 PANTHOUS Cr. II. 123.124. A. A. [‘ Priamus ♀ ’ added later]’ and Felder label ‘ Amboine Coll Lenep’ ( BMNH (E)# 133077) is a fair but not exact match for original plate 87, figs A, A . 1 ♀, with Felder label ‘ Amboine Coll Lenep’ ( BMNH (E)# 133073) is an equally fair match. Both have the thorax extensively damaged and may have been re-pinned; the second female has had some repairs to the right hindwing .
