Type:— Iran. Prope Shurab inter Esfahan et Tehran, H. C. Haussknecht s.n. (lectotype G-BOIS: G 00330445!, designated here).

Note: Three syntypes (“prope Shurab inter Esfahan et Tehran, Haussknecht s.n. ”, “ Qom, Hauz-i Sultan, May 1859, Bunge s.n. ” and “prope Shurab inter Esfahan et Tehran, May 1859, Bunge s.n. ”) were cited by Murbeck (1925) in the protologue of Celsia disjecta ( Verbascum disjectum ). The sheet “prope Shurab inter Esfahan et Tehran, Haussknecht s.n ” preserved at G is selected as the lectotype here because it contains leaves and flowers that are better developed than the other sheets, and the characters of the specimen agree closely with the protologue.
