Vermetus renisectus ( Carpenter, 1857)

Description

Operculum circular, concave with a spiral, flat lamina of 1.5 whorls and less than the apertural diameter of the shell. Shell attached to substratum by loose, irregular basal whorls and give rise to an off-substrata apertural opening.

Type locality

‘‘in Oceano?Indico’’.

Distribution

Indo Pacific. Attached to current-scoured hard substrata. Eastern Hong Kong ( Hughes 1985).
