Type material. Holotype ( NMW): male, “ MYANMAR: Sagaing Division Chatthin Wildlife Sanctuary 23º31.324’N 95º38.417’E ca. 210m, 9. 10. 1998 leg. Schillhammer (11)”, genit. s. no. HY 883.

Description. Male. Body ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B) oblong-oval, slightly convex dorsally, shining, closely covered with yellowish-white setae. Coloration of body brown, but antennae and legs pale brown.

Head large, slightly convex dorsally, minutely granulate. Eyes large, weakly prominent; the distance between eyes about 2.5 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Pronotum granulate as on head; front and lateral margins straight; antero- and postero-lateral corners about 120º, slightly projecting anteriorly in anterior corners; posterior margin bisinuous; PW/PL 2.11. Scutellar shield small, equilaterally triangular, densely punctate. Elytra oblong, widest at the middle, densely punctate; each elytron furnished with three indistinct costae; humeral parts lightly projecting; apices right-angled; EL/EW 1.60; EL/PL 4.21; EW/PW 1.25; TL/EW 1.98.

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A) gently arcuate. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B) well sclerotized, trapezoidal, with long apodemes; two pairs of projections protruding from basal part, outer one pointed at apices, inner one longer, obtuse at apices. Tergite IX ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C) moderately sclerotized, H-shaped; apices pointed, with large clawlike projections. Tegmen ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D) moderately sclerotized, long, Y-shaped; parameres long, apical 2/5 of length of tegmen, pointed at apices. Penis ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E) moderately sclerotized, about 0.73 times as long as tegmen; pala arcuate in basal margin, widest just before the base; parameroid obtuse and widened at apex, densely punctate in apical part, with some nipple-like setae in apical 1/3 of dorsal surface; trigonium pointed at apex, gently curved ventrally.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 1.98 mm; PW 0.80 mm; PL 0.38 mm; EW 1.00 mm; EL 1.60 mm.

Distribution. Myanmar.

Remarks. This is a remarkable species in having the following characters: 1) tergite VIII with two pairs of long projections on lateral margin, 2) tergite IX pointed and with claw-like apical projections, and 3) trigonium of penis pointed at apex. Related species are unknown.

Etymology. The species is named after the type locality.
