( Fig. 1B View Fig )

Chrysomela coniuncta Rogers 1856: 34 .

The species epithet was originally spelled “ coniuncta ”, but the prevailing usage is “ conjuncta ” (see ICZN 1999: Article 33.3; Riley et al. 2003). “ Zygogramma conjuncta pallida ” was formerly treated as a subspecies, but it is herein elevated to species rank. “ Zygogramma conjuncta conjuncta ” has been reported from Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Arizona, California, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Mexico (Riley et al. 2003). Beyond this, Hatch (1971) reported Z. conjuncta from Oregon, but he did not specify which former subspecies was involved. However, we have examined an Oregon specimen of C. conjuncta (AJGC) . Additionally, we have examined C. conjuncta from Colorado, Nevada, and Wyoming (BYUC). Host plants belong to the family Asteraceae View in CoL (discussed under “ Calligrapha pallida ” following this list).
